Quick Post: In other awesome Museum News, Prefix mag brings me great word of Mike D coming to Los Angeles to set up his own art curation and his Transmission LA: AV Club project with the help of Geffen Museum and KCRW. I cant believe I didnt know this was happening. Like, right now. Geez. Check out the swipe below, then lets all head over to the Geffen right quick.
Fresh from his induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, Beastie Boy Mike D curates a new show “Transmission LA: AV Club” at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles. The multi-disciplinary, multi sensory, 17 day exhibition features everything from concerts to food trucks, as well as DJ sessions and performances from Santigold and Diplo. Expect rules to be bent, if not broken, as art of the contemporary and avant-garde dominate, including works by Tom Sachs, Ben Jones and Justin Lowe. Mike D’s vow to leave visitors “stoked, nauseous or both” seems a promise likely to be kept.
This looks fun.
I’d better see you there.
