The other night, Tanya Morgan slid into town with Blu and Pigeon John for some fun times and Hip Hop over at The Terrace up in Pasadena. It was a great atmosphere at the (relatively) new hip hop spot, which was fairly crowded with kids from all walk of life ready to see some good music. Meeting up with TM before their set to spend some money at the merch table, I also took some time catching up with the boys, catch up on life and music projects (come OOON 6th sense project!), and watching how geeked they were to have such a great turnout for the show.
When the time came to rock the spot, they did to the fullest, giving a high energy 35 minute set of songs that included an assortment of hits from their You and What Army catalog (In The City, Together), as well as some favorites from their solid Brooklynatti release. A great performance that was enhanced by the fact that Blu went on minutes after the boys finished rockin the crowd. Good energy throughout the entire night, and a great way to get out for the first time since poppin that hamstring and getting some live music in my life.
I’m really proud of what these men are doing and have been doing for a while. Their career in music has been nothing but consistant growth. Their last mixtape, You and What Army is still up on the bandcamp for you to listen to, and you should really give it a spin. Make sure you follow them on the twitters, catch the rest of their tour, and enjoy the random footage I caught below.
