This was going to be a post celebrating the work and progress of one of my favorite bands, The London Souls. And I mean motherfucking actively involved with their music FAVORITE. As in I just saw these boys give a hell of a live show on May 24th in the Roosevelt Hotel. One of their first shows in Los Angeles. And I mean I put in effort to get there, like I found out about it at the last minute, rented zipcars and got there just as the show started. And it was worth every fucking moment. Their brand of Blues Rock is UNFUCKWITHABLE right now, and I’ve been yelling about it on this site for almost 2 years. FINALLY seeing them live made nerd life COMPLETE.

A few days later, The Londons Souls popped up in the background of a Red Lobster commercial. I geeked on Facebook and they picked up on it, making a proper announcement and giving me video to post in celebration. I didn’t think they would check up on the Facebooks, but they do… and they were so nice about contacting and sending the commercial my way. It was great.

…and then today, I find out that Tash Neal, lead singer for the group, was a victim of a hit and run taxi cab accident wednesday morning. As his brother posted on Facebook, he has made it through Brain Surgery (man, FUCK) and is now in intensive care, opening his eyes for the first time today. 

For me, in my little music nerd world… this is really sad and frightening news. I was literally sitting here getting ready to post about Mega Ran and my favoritest rock band that I just saw for the first time in LA…. and then this happens. My heart hurts for his family, who have probably had no peace since this incident happened. And for Tash himself… who probably is just trying to figure out whats going on and get back to us. I haven’t sent up instant prayers like this for someone I don’t know in a while, but I am right now. I’d appreciate it if you do to, if you care.

Also, if you saw ANYTHING about the dude that hit this boy… say something. This is some bullshit right here. Broadway and Bleeker. Speak up.

I’ll update with anything I know as I find it out. I’ll leave the music I was going to originally post on the bottom and just… go pray somewhere for a while.
