Concerts: Dam-Funk officially headlines Make Music Pasadena 2012 along with Grouplove and Grimes. Links:

I love where I live.

Last year I posted up about the Make Music festival in Pasadena, but never posted a follow up to it. I should have, being that it was pretty cool. Spread out  down the entire corridor of Colorado from Pasadena Street to Lake Avenue, it almost 50 bands playing within a 3 mile walkable radius, included special guest appearances by Best Coast down in Old Town, all types of fun stuff down El Molino and in the Pasadena Playhouse, food vendors, art walks… everything. It was a great event and I was proud of my city for pulling it off (plus its great to see your tax dollars at work; gatdamn 15% cell phone tax. Shit).

So just when I thought last years line up and band set ups couldn’t get any more kickass, I find out THIS years headliner is none other than the King of The New Funk, Dam-Funk. Not only that, we have one of my other favorites Grouplove popping up for the win, along with sets from Dengue Fever and Grimes for the all around ‘let me go get caught up on the trendy stuff the blogger kids like’ fun. Set for June 16th (next saturday), I am INCREDIBLY geeked for this one and you should be too, considering every show is absolutely free. You just provide yourself, some food and a good attitude and I am sure you will have a good time.

Check out their website for set times and the full list of 75+ bands playing this year, the food trucks coming, vendors sponsoring, where to park if you’re driving in, all of that good info. Hope to see you there.
