I didn’t know this had a video.

This dude’s album is amazing, might blog about this later.

Old School Awesome. I just realized they filmed this video on the corner of Hill st. and 4th in Downtown LA. I geeked a bit.

Continuing the old school flashbacks, I started wondering where she is…

Which led me to finding new music. Good for her.

Only because @abu718 said something.

I want to thank DJ Jedi for This:

Speaking of DJ Jedi… he’s all in your backgrounds. Witnessing your awesomes. (I LOVE HIPHOPISCOOLAGAIN)

Man, I saw them live last night and got a drumstick WITH the setlist. And I’m genuinely geeked about it; will blog later.

I know I need to get back to blogging for REAL, with the current music news poppin off…
I’ll never leave you alone, just

This is really sad and really amazing all at once.

Its unfortunate the way music has changed in the last few years.  Somewhere along the way people started thinking that you could just take music off the internet without consequence. People started lying to themselves, stating that CDs and Vinyl records are “outdated.” Okay. Whatever you need to say in order to get your Pirate on.   What you weren’t thinking about is the small, independent record stores like Pennylane, Knockout and now… FatBeats… who were actually kind of dependent on you guys sticking to being honest music collectors, and buying music from them, at least ONCE in a while.

It’s a two-way street, I know. For years, the Music Industry have gouged both music fans and their artist of their money for at times… an inferior product. I understand. I remember back in the day when it was like, $20 to buy a CD. It was wack. Also, It’s a recession and a lot of us don’t have jobs or extra money to spend on music like we used to. Thats real. I respect that. But  you guys stopped buying CDs long before this. And its beginning to show. Well… it has been showing for a while. Now its blatant. lol. It makes me think that people honestly believe that music is a disposable and unimportant part of entertainment and life in general. I really hope we haven’t reached that point.

Anyways, forget that rant. I’m here to celebrate the awesomeness that was and still IS FatBeats Los Angeles, located at 7600 Melrose Avenue (323 655-8997)… and the Amazing Final In-Store Line Up that makes up the last week of FatBeats LA being open for business In-Store (online sales will continue). Not only is this an opportunity to get into the store and buy some music to make up for all the stuff you’ve been stealing online (oops), it really is set to be one of the greatest weeks in Los Angeles Hip Hop in a long while. With sets from my buddy and certified winner, DJ Jedi… and the legendary Peanut Butter Wolf, Rhettmatic, J Rocc and more… along with appearances from Blue, Dilated Peoples, Chino XL and Planet Asia… its set to be an exhibit of Hip Hop Culture at its finest.

If you don’t go, you’re not hip hop.
